V2_Lab for the Unstable Media X engage

Mainstream digital technologies are often controlled by large companies and profit models. We know how that’s working out. But what if we tried to do it differently? 

Technologies of Solidarity invites you to learn about alternatives to digital technologies. Over the four days of engage 2025, V2_ will host talks, workshops and artistic projects exploring open-source tools, ethical AI and offline ways of staying connected. Try out practical tools and imagine new, more collective and creative ways of working with technology.

Step 1: Get your passe-partout for just €6 - this gives you access to most events during engage 2025, 9 - 12 October. 

Step 2: Register for individual events using the confirmation email you'll receive.

Fri 10 October

11:00 – 15:30 | Workshop on experimental tools and collaborative practices.

16:00 – 18:00 | Talk and performance on critical perspectives in technology and culture.

Sat 11 October

11:00 – 15:30 | Workshop on sustainable and accessible technology.

16:00 – 18:00 | Talk and artistic intervention on solidarity in digital and non-digital networks.

18:00 – 21:00 | Shared dinner and informal gathering.

Sun 12 October (Closing)

11:00 – 12:00 | Neighbourhood Brunch.

12:00 – 14:00 | Central closing session with reflections and next steps.

V2_, Lab for the Unstable Media is an interdisciplinary center for art and media technology based in Rotterdam. They present, produce, archive, and publish research at the intersection of art, technology, and society. They believe that art and design are key to understanding how technology shapes our world. At V2_, they create spaces where the social impact of technology can be explored through critical dialogue, artistic reflection, and hands-on research.
