10 october
On Friday October 10th, the winners of our Open Call 2025 present their projects at Ubik (WORM), located at the Boomgaardstraat 69 Rotterdam.
Come listen, question and discover how art and making processes contribute to real change. Continuous program with presentations, talks and space for connection.
What started in Schiemond neighbourhood has grown into a citywide music platform: Rec The Jam brings musicians from different Rotterdam districts together in new bands, guides them through the creative process, and provides professional recordings.
The concept is simple but powerful: musicians sign up through an open system, get matched in diverse bands where differences become strengths, receive coaching and studio time, and end with a live jam performance. With 14 formed bands, YouTube visibility, and collaborations like the 010SummerJam with SKVR, Rec The Jam proves that investing in local talent leads to sustainable impact.
With the budget from engage, Blaxparx develops special Rec The Jam sessions in Rotterdam, bringing neighbourhood talent together with professional guidance. Barriers to the music world are removed: no expensive studio needed, no existing network required - just passion for music.
